Rooted in the traditions of classical painting and sculpture, Yanik draws extensively from the Old Masters and the visual culture of antiquity. These influences inform his approach to composition, movement and contrast, while his work continues to evolve through contemporary art and the progressing language of tattooing.
Yanik holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from HAW Hamburg. Following his studies, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked alongside Noah Minuskin and deepened his understanding of the black and grey tradition rooted in the Los Angeles tattoo scene.
At the end of 2024 and with over ten years of experience, Yanik returned to Switzerland and established his private studio in Bern. He works internationally, with a practice spanning Bern, Zurich, Hamburg, Los Angeles and New York.
